Bayleaf Production was created by Amit Dutt & Joy Basu as a means to produce avant-garde independent films of individual & personal nature. Originally from Calcutta, India - Amit now resides in the US where as Joy is in Calcutta. Both are very passionate about making films.
The current project "Robibar Bikalbela" is a feature film based on the tumultuous period of the early 70s when Calcutta was in political turmoil. In the aftermath of that violent and unstable period, the film explores the fate of an individual - how his life changes and gets intertwined with others and how he comes to term with his own existential integrity.
Cast members include: Sudipta Chakraborty, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Arun Mukherjee, Gita dey, Abir Chatterjee, Rumki Chatterjee, & Mou Bhattacharya.
